ABOUT
Philip Sayce is a modern guitar hero whose sound fuses blistering electric blues, high-voltage rock, and soulful psychedelia into a style all his own. Born in Aberystwyth, raised in Toronto, and now based in Los Angeles, Sayce grew up immersed in a rich musical landscape shaped by artists like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jeff Healey. By his mid-teens, he was already a fixture in Toronto’s blues scene, performing regularly at legendary venues like Grossman’s Tavern and The Silver Dollar Room.
His breakthrough came when Jeff Healey invited him to join his band, launching an international touring career and contributing to multiple recordings, including Get Me Some. Sayce went on to tour and record with Uncle Kracker before joining Melissa Etheridge’s band from 2004–2009, performing on three studio albums, two live releases, and the Academy Award-winning song “I Need to Wake Up.”

Launching his solo career with Peace Machine, Sayce quickly established himself as a commanding voice in modern blues rock. A string of acclaimed releases followed, including Innerevolution, Ruby Electric, Steamroller, and Influence (produced by Dave Cobb), along with the live album Scorched Earth and the widely celebrated Spirit Rising. His music now reaches a global audience, generating more than one million monthly streams.
In 2024, Sayce released The Wolves Are Coming via Forty Below Records to widespread critical acclaim. The album was named the #2 Blues Album of the Year by Classic Rock Magazine and featured standout tracks including “Oh! That Bitches Brew,” “Backstabber,” and “Intuition.” The single “Black Moon” held the #1 spot for four weeks on SiriusXM’s BB King’s Bluesville channel, further cementing his reputation as one of today’s most compelling live performers. He continued that momentum into 2025 with the release of “Hole in Your Soul,” a powerful showcase of his signature tone and emotional depth.
In 2026, Sayce expands his live legacy with Scorched Earth: Volume 2 – Live in LA / London, a raw and electrifying album captured during sold-out performances in Los Angeles and London. The record channels the full intensity of his live show, with standout moments including “Once,” a deeply personal track written in dedication to his father. The release offers listeners an unfiltered experience of Sayce’s artistry at its most immediate and powerful.
Alongside his live work, Sayce continues to push forward in the studio with Electric Jubilee, his forthcoming album recorded between Toronto and Los Angeles. Blending original material with reimagined classics, the project reflects both a deep reverence for blues traditions and a bold step into new sonic territory.
Known for his meticulous attention to tone, Sayce’s sound is shaped by vintage guitars, custom amplifiers, and carefully curated effects, capturing the immediacy and spirit of a live performance. As he puts it: “These songs carry my truth. They are a reflection of my journey, my struggles, my joy. I hope they lift people up the way making these songs lifted me.”
